What is XSiteLinks?
XSiteLinks is a free link exchange system designed to promote your website on search engines by providing you with 5 one-way links.

The system is completely automatic: You insert XSiteLinks's widget on your site. The XSiteLinks system identifies it and provides you immediately with 5 links from trusted websites with the text you've asked to promote. Then the widget will link automatically to 5 trusted sites in return (no reciprocal links).

Why do I need links from other sites?
Links from other sites are the most important factor to improve your site's ranking on search engines, such as Google. The higher your ranking, the more traffic you generate to your website. Link exchange is a proven method of increasing traffic and improving search engine rankings. It has been used by professional SEO companies for many years and is regarded as the most effective method of generating web traffic.

Moreover, with more quality links between your website and other sites of similar content, search engines are likely to refer to your site as informative, relevant and a good source of information; thus boosting your ranking. With its tailored linking (links are provided according to compatibility with the content of your site) and a quality database, XSiteLinks can be the extra push your site needs to score higher in search engine placement.

Is my site suitable to be promoted with XSiteLinks?
At this time XSiteLinks can only accept sites that are PHP or ASP operated.

How can I know if my site supports PHP or ASP?
There are several ways to check whether your site is PHP or ASP enabled:

1. In most cases once you enter the XSiteLinks code into your website and upload to your server, you will see a XSiteLinks image logo on the page on which you placed the XSiteLinks code. This may be an indication that PHP and/or ASP is active on your site.

2. At times you will see the XSiteLinks PHP logo but your site will still not be able to access PHP and/or ASP. This could be because your site runs on a .html script that is not PHP and/or ASP enabled. All you have to do then is simply enable .html to run on your PHP script.

How do I enable PHP to run on my HTML scripted site?
Assuming that your server host does support PHP but you cannot access it because your site name ends with .html rather than .php, there is a simple way to fix this allowing your HTML page to execute PHP.

To allow your HTML pages to execute PHP, simply modify your .htaccess file by adding the line AddType application/x-httpd-php .html to a page name that ends with .html, or the line AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm if your page name ends with .htm

Note that the location of your .htaccess file varies depending on your FTP program and may be hard to find. If you are having trouble locating your .htaccess file, it is best to ask your hosting service for help.

How do I know that XSiteLinks's database is relevant and up to date?
XSiteLinks is updated regularly in order to make sure that all the sites available in our database are real, active and relevant.

How can I get XSiteLinks to approve my site?
If you have a real and high quality site, we will probably approve your site.

However, we do not accept links from pornographic sites, sites that display nudity, use inappropriate language, are offensive to a specific person or community, lack a reasonable amount of content and/or are built purely for advertising purposes.

XSiteLinks is quite strict about the quality of the links it accepts. We ask that your link text (the text you want to promote) is relevant, comprehensible and represents your website.
We ask that you refrain from using odd characters such as signs or foreign languages that may be interpreted as an irregularity in your link text.

Why was my site removed from XSiteLinks?
When signing up to XSiteLinks users receive a XSiteLinks widget code to enter and upload to their website. If for any reason our system cannot locate the widget code after you've inserted it, the site will be removed from the XSiteLinks.

If you find out that you have been removed from the service, try re-entering the widget code and upload it to the server again - this should get you reinstalled into the XSiteLinks service.

Is XSiteLinks really free?
Yes. XSiteLinks is completely free!

Do I need to link to XSiteLinks in order to get my promised 5 links?
Absolutely not. XSiteLinks is a free service that does not require you to promote it.

However, if you choose to link to XSiteLinks, more people will know about it. This will increase the pool of sites we can offer you, therefore providing you with better links, higher ranking and eventually more traffic.

How do I cancel my XSiteLinks account?
If for any reason you wish to discontinue your use of XSiteLinks, simply delete the code you were given from the site. This will remove your website/s from XSiteLinks.
